We create duality with exclusion. We are divided against ourselves, our thoughts and our feelings, but the good news is that we are collectively exhausting ourselves with this. To name and befriend our shame is to become human and therefore whole. NONE of us are perfect. We are all on the path, walking each other home in an imperfect world. Becoming human is not about changing who we are. It’s about restoring the pieces that we have marginalized to fit in, get along or even survive. It’s about moving forward in nature’s inclusion, belonging to the earth.
The full moon on June 24th falls in the tropical sign of Capricorn, it’s wound is neglect, as described by Dayna Lynn Nuckolls (the People’s Oracle https://thepeoplesoracle.com/). As humans, we could literally create whatever we want here on Earth. Our journey is from hoarding and heaping into unconditional love and sharing. The chasm between where we are and where we are going can only be crossed with a heart as light as a feather. The burdens of grief we carry today will weigh us down too much to jump with. We have got to find a way to release our fear, hate and anxiety. Finally, a loving heart must be exhausted from too long fearing the marriage of spirit in matter. There can be no domination over nature. It’s our fate to unite with her. We have to learn to share, mediate and cooperate.
Capricorn responds to the wound of neglect by withholding according to Nuckolls. She has elaborated a Sidereal system for liberation of her people in the BLM movement and beyond. Withholding, hoarding, controlling and manipulating are all seagoat strategies to fill the void left by neglect. Because deep down Capricorn is all about the will to commit and commitment without love leaves us alone and thinking, thinking, thinking. The sea-goat is much more suited to building foundations and maintaining them. Without love it just collects things and treats everything like inert matter. Thought does not unite us with life, it separates us. Thought is a wonderful tool, but a rotten value. One cannot build a loving, living world from thought alone.
Thought is fear’s servant. The mind must be taught the value of serving the heart. Don’t believe me? Look where the sun is in Tropical the chart: Cancer — the home, the hearth, the loving foundation that Capricorn can find itself, it’s purpose and it’s missing nurturing in. The mind that serves only matter destroys life. The mind that serves the heart protects life. The mind must be the servant of love, the willing, committed, loving protector of the Self.
We have had the time to stand apart from all that we want to disown thanks to this pandemic. We have had a bird’s eye view of our hate, blame, shame, greed and bigotry. In all of the emerging demons, it seems like we have found conflict around every corner, fear in abundance and the threat of violence looming ever closer. I have stated before and I maintain now: these are our personal divisions within that we have not met in quiet contemplation, so they must be shown to us without.
I am using my Capricorn will (and yeah, the withholding) to merge my heart and mind with the goal of building a new foundation. I am trying to live my life unconflicted. I am actively seeking right relationship. The limitation of a pandemic is actually quite helpful in this because I can avoid conflict more readily while I breathe through all these unprocessed conflicts I bear Breathe. https://scribeflowblog.wordpress.com/blog/. I am weary of blaming and hating, scapegoating and farming out my own issues. I am unable to live divided against myself any longer.
The isolation of the Capricornian pandemic can help make me more loving if I use the time to learn myself, to know myself and release my old beliefs( more on this in a minute). I have to develop a relationship with all my dark parts and find the kind of food they need to follow the direction of my Self. I have to find a way to see them in the more loving light of atonement. I must repair, restore and remediate the damage that was necessary to grow me up so I can live whole. I made it this far, I have got to follow through (very sea-goat sentiment right there).
There are titanic energies that have to be moved here on Earth and humanity is that catalyst. We now stand on a knife edge, ready to condemn ourselves, our entire ancestry and any form of a livable future all because of our woundedness and division. The absolute black and white duality of our exclusion and fear has us turned against those we love in the the name of “earning a living” and the almighty dollar. We made those things up, you know. They don’t exist except that we pay them homage like gods.
What we fail to see is that we are the power that will change this oppression. Our emotional range is the key, the very instrument that expresses what kind of change will come. Just as the moon is illuminated by the sun in the opposition that is a full moon, our pain shows us it’s antidote, if we know how to look to our heart instead of our mind. The mind will save only your ass. The heart will save the planet. Without love or touch most mammals will die. It is also the case with any of our creations: our cultures, our economies and our families. It’s time we face this reality as Saturn consistently reminds us with the ticking of the clock, the passing of the equinox and the turning of the year.
The capacity we develop and nurture to feel what is being shown to us is vital to the kind of world we create: fear begets fear. Exclusion and nationalism breeds unending division and hatred. Borders and walls impede the natural rhythm of migration routes like dams shunt the flow of rivers to the sea. DNA is like a gene swarm, a biological, informational rave party. The more nuance and inclusion we build the capacity for, the more opposites we can hold in unity and harmony, the more magical and weird and wonderful our world can become. The more we call for truth and justice for all beings, the more free our lives can be.
But if we eat our babies and get all constipated about what we “deserve” and have “earned” we miss the whole point. We are not here among 9 billion other humans the sequester a gated community for the 9 people we like (and even then, only if they please us). We are here to work together on the larger problems that face us. As we become more aware, those problems get bigger. We need each other and we need everyone healthy and working at their highest creative capacity in collaboration FAST. I mean like yesterday.
Have you noticed the great regularity with which we continually get thrown back into the limitations of matter even though we know we are more than matter? That’s likely because we are meant to be in a relationship to matter that is like a marriage, just like the heart and mind are meant to work together. We are not meant to dominate or control AN.Y.THING but our own impulses and minds. Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter retrogrades will throw us back into the washing machine of material limitation over and over until we learn to relate to matter in partnership and abandon our need to enslave. It’s a rotten and lazy habit, the kind of thing Saturn and Capricorn abhor.
To end the duality, the polarity, the foreverwar we must not enlist. We cannot choose sides. To enlist in the fabricated either/or fight that the fearful have designed for us is to forfeit our own lives and those of all future generations. To love unconditionally is to honor the sacred nature of all living beings and their right to be in this world before any material entitlement I “think” I have. To love without condition is to feel what another being may feel and honor their experience, even if I don’t “think” it’s correct. It’s valid because it is. No more genocide, no more oppression and no more hierarchy.
There is a wisdom within the relentless pressure of Saturn In Capricorn that is like a birth: we are being pushed through a narrow passage and all the unnecessary baggage is being left behind. We have to each realize this shedding of the placenta in our own lives. Existence is amniotic and oceanic in the womb, but one does not remain in the womb beyond gestation. To do so is toxic and recidivist to mother and child.
As more bodies of native children from residential “schools” are being found in unmarked graves in Canada, this metaphor comes to horrifying life. These are the demons we will be asked to face: our own darkness, our need to possess, to covet and steal from those whose land we all live on must be faced as an enormous debt of gratitude. Somehow we have to reckon with the fact that all we have created to make us safe was stolen from people we murdered. Ignorance is no excuse if we want right relation.
This is a feminine (receptive) wisdom delivered to us by masculine (penetrating) means. Receiving the truth does not mean meting out punishment. The patriarchy was constructed unconsciously to protect the psyche, but it resulted in infantilizing us collectively and making us dependent on things that destroy. It made us rely on rejection and “othering”, exiling and scapegoating the inconvenient and uncomfortable parts of ourselves. Reckoning means maturing, balancing and introspecting. We have to reflect upon what happened and how we can do better.
We have tightly controlled what we see of ourselves and of the world. We have collectively rejected the unseen, the larger forces of nature and our emotional selves. We thought that maybe matter would be easier to control and work with. But nature itself is matter and we do not have control over her cycles. The emotional energy of this full moon is proof, the brain fog, confusion and the effect of the retrogrades have us unsure how to proceed: here the heart must lead. Nothing insincere or inauthentic will feel foundational, there is no safe haven outside the Self. Yoganauts who have been on this path since 2015, do you remember your personal vision? You have arrived at the threshold, the wei wu wei has delivered you to your destination.
Adherence to the truth within, the one you feel in your heart, IS the karmic reward. It’s not external, it’s within. The feeling of well-being that comes from right relation to yourself ends the war within and informs our holiest desire. Push forward into this as your hesitation slowly leaves, but accept that we are in the planning phase. It’s unlikely that we will have all the information until the new moon in July.
This full moon lives in the nakshatra of Mula, the lunar mansion of the root and the fixed stars which sit at the root of consciousness and the galactic center. Sagittarian and Scorpionic belief and depth are necessary to see the world with new eyes. It’s a form of foundational atonement where we realize we could not have seen where we are now from where we were in December 2020, when the corresponding lunation occurred. Jupiter retrograde rules this full moon further expanding the light, transmission and and attachment to that past moment. Check your photos, emails and social media feeds for what was happening then.
It’s the birthday of the goddess Gayatri the holiday that recognizes the day when Maa Adishakti took form of Gayatri to kill Vetrasur, the demon who was able to control all the deities. Brahma himself was about to rend the veil of maya to stop the demon when the goddess stepped in and slayed him. Let this time “give you depth, dimension, and sensitivity, so you can know exactly how to satisfy that higher consciousness or power you serve.” Let it align you with the gratitude all creation shows the goddess for her protection.
Let this be a time of awareness and making peace with what it took to get us here, now, in present embodiment. Let’s be grateful for the past, grounded in the present and resolved for the future. We are reforming the ground of being to reflect a new set of values, a more aware and inclusive consciousness and a new determination to be true to our hearts and align our minds within, not outside ourselves. This is adherence to inner, eternal truth and peace is the only way we can survive.
