Sun and the Black Moon (Friday 30 September 6:11 pm MDT) in Libra

Fair, Balanced and Equal is CONTEXTUAL and the measure is LOVE (which is a unifying PROCESS).
Old paradigms of Conflict, Greed and Dominance ARE changing.  How we ACT now matters, immensely.  This HAS TO BE A CONTROLLED BURN.
The 25th, Monday, had Jupiter conjunct the sun and Pluto FINALLY stationing direct.  Anything cool happen for you?~L
The moon was almost exactly at last quarter when Jenney Disimon in Sabah, North Borneo captured this photo on July 27, 2016 (5:30 a.m. local time, or July 26 at 21:30 UTC).
“May I learn all the ways in which I do not really see you. All the ways I rush through you, past you, over you. May I learn to pause in your presence. May I learn that witnessing you is witnessing myself. The more I do one, the more I can do another.

May I learn all the ways in which my self-obsession inhibits me from being able to experience you as you are, not as I think you should be. May I look for all of the assumptions that I have created. All of the prejudices I have been handed and that I consciously and unconsciously perpetuate. All of the limited understandings of you that I project on to you everyday. May I commit to rewiring my mind to be humble enough to know that I don’t know you but that I am willing to learn about you. May I remember that getting to know you is an honor and a blessing.”

2016-sept-28-moon-and-mercuryThe bow of the waning crescent moon points toward Mercury's place over the sunrise point on the horizon. Mercury is more easily viewed in the Northern Hemisphere.

“A Black Moon (in some parts of the world)

From the Western Hemisphere, the new moon occurring on Friday, Sept. 30, is a Black Moon.

September 2016 is host to a somewhat unusual lunar event: a second new moon in a single month, an event some people call a “Black Moon.”

While a full moon refers to the moment when the moon’s Earth-facing side is fully illuminated by sunlight, a new moon refers to the moment when the moon’s Earth-facing side is fully in shadow. (Unfortunately, that means the Black Moon will be more or less invisible, even if the moon is high in the sky).” ~www.space.com

This composite image shows suspected plumes of water vapor erupting at the 7 o'clock position off the limb of Jupiter's moon Europa. The plumes, photographed by NASA's Hubble's Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph, were seen in silhouette as the moon passed in front of Jupiter. Hubble's ultraviolet sensitivity allowed for the features, rising over 100 miles above Europa's icy surface, to be discerned. The water is believed to come from a subsurface ocean on Europa. The Hubble data were taken on January 26, 2014. Image via NASA.

“The new moon will fall in the area of the sky known as Hasta nakshatra – “the hand of god.” Hasta channels the brilliant light of Savitur, the Hindu deity of the dawn.  Each morning, as the sun rises, Savitur breaks the darkness of night.  His solar energy awakens consciousness on our planet and impels us into action. The power of the rising sun is beaming through the haze of the subconscious night on this new moon, offering inner clarity and radiating insight for all those who inquire.

The close proximity of expansive Jupiter in sidereal Virgo gives this new moon an extra dose of healing inspiration. It promotes interest in changing diet and lifestyle and opens opportunities for supportive self-care.   Feeling depleted of energy is entirely possible; and for some, this new moon could trigger the deceptive and untrusting dark side of Hasta’s influence.

Listening to, or chanting the gayatri mantra is a great way to empower the sun’s positive light on your life at this time.  Also, spending time in the warm rays of the sun and watching sunrises and sunsets can help remove uncertainty and increase your self-confidence.  Warm ginger or cinnamon teas, and foods spiced with saffron or turmeric also balance solar energy.

Gayatri Mantra

Om bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ
tát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃ
bhárgo devásya dhīmahi
dhíyo yó naḥ prachodayāt
– Rigveda 3.62.10

We meditate on the glory of that being who has produced this universe;
may its light shine into our minds.

New moons are portals (this world of riddled with holes!~L) to the inner world and the subconscious realm, and for this reason they can trigger anxiety and doubt.  This upcoming lunar cycle has a special power to combat this.”
As the moon begins to wax again on Oct 1, Navaratri, the 10-day Hindu festival of the goddess will begin.
These powerful waxing moon days are celebrated for their exceptional ability to accelerate spiritual growth and healing.
Navaratri (Nava=nine/ Ratri=nightsalways begins the day after the new moon and is celebrated five times a year. The most important and widely celebrated is the Maha Navaratri – the Navaratri of Autumn (Sharadiya Navaratri) which falls in October this year.

The LOVELY CLARISSA from REAL TIME ASTROLOGY at www.vivacombusta.com writes;

“The Libra Black New Moon will conjunct Jupiter at 4 degrees Libra. It will also sextile Saturn at 11 degrees Sagittarius and inconjunct/quincunx Neptune retrograde at 9 degrees Pisces, thus triggering the waning Saturn-Neptune squares. It will also square Mars and Pluto in Capricorn (2 and 14 degrees, respectively.)

The New Moon in Libra will be the first lunation after the eclipse season of September. The first lunations after eclipses are always bursting with energy, as they express things often overshadowed or “eclipsed” at the actual eclipses but that now come out full force. So, a very energetic Libra New Moon! The aspects definitely support an electric charge to the atmosphere, though there’s conflicting information in what will actually go down. It’s complicated…

On the one hand, it’s conjunct Jupiter in Libra! Woo-hoo! Throw some confetti in the air, a New Moon conjunct Jupiter is a party waiting to happen. It’s just easier to find joy, and Libra being a social sign, the Libra New Moon conjunct Jupiter is going to be about finding joy with others. You stay at home alone, you lose out. At least try to invite people over if you’re staying in. The sextile to Saturn in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius gives a nice opportunity to turn new friends or flirts or acquaintances into long lasting ones.

It’s a Friday night/Saturday morning, take a chance on love here. I’m not saying you’ll fall in love; hell, it might turn out a bit nasty with the squares to Mars and Pluto. Some of the hard transits of recent memory have either left certain folks lonely, or killed their mojo. Closed off to even entertaining the idea of fun love.  (My hand is raised.~L) But, what is more likely is that you’ll be faced with a part of your dark psyche (Pluto) that forces you (Mars) to grow in positive ways (Jupiter) in your expectations of relationships (Libra). This growth can only be forced through interacting with others, there is no other way to grow in relationships other than, well, relating. (Well, dammit~L).~www.vivacombusta.com

“The New Moon often represents the planting of a seed, and the darkness that seed experiences before it begins to bloom. To have two New Moons in one month signifies a very powerful blossoming process and one that has probably been in the works for some time.  September’s Black Moon is filled with positive aspects and plenty of opportunities. In fact, the entire week leading up to the Black Moon and the days that follow it, are going to be extremely positive and peaceful.  The energy of this Black Moon is so supported by the other planets and it is very likely we will all be experiencing great epiphanies, opportunities and even, miracles.” ~www.foreverconscious.com

Cal Garrison, people!  Mother of SKYE, yo!  Laying it down on the hungover day after her 68th solar return!

“I have always pooh-poohed Libra as way too superficial and boring. It’s anything but. From a cosmic perspective this is the horizon line where Earth and Sky connect, and what happens at this interface is absolutely awesome. By the Fall Equinox whatever we’ve been dreaming about, along with everyone else’s visions have reached their highest mode of expression. And none of us can grow any further if we don’t figure out how to weave what we’ve created into the universal matrix. What’s “out there” is dying to embrace us the same way Father Sky embraces Mother Earth at the horizon line.  At the bottom line the need for “other” and the burning desire to see ourselves reflected in the eyes of another person comes from a yearning to experience our own divinity and be reminded that we are loved unconditionally by whatever is at the source.

In order for that to happen we have to surrender all of who we are, and all of what we’ve become as a result of this dream process, to something outside of ourselves. What good would it do to keep it all inside? How would it benefit anyone if we didn’t know enough to take our show on the road and see where we fit in to the greater whole?

The horizon line is the point where every vision falls in love with its larger purpose. And we can only find out what that is by sharing what’s inside us with the world. There are a million ways to do this. Since all of us exist in relation to everything, the possibilities and the points through which we can connect are infinite.
The whole point of being here in 3D is to remember our own divinity.

If all of us understood this, life on planet earth would be so different — because we would know that we are all one and that we come from the same source. Use the next few weeks to find out as much as you can about where you connect with what’s “out there.” Relinquish your separateness. Let the divine in you shine through. I have a feeling when you do you will see it reflected in the eyes of everyone you meet and in everything you do.” – See more at: http://mountaintimes.info/divine-connectedness/#sthash.LxCy044R.dpuf –  (This is the absolute LAST thing I feel like doing right now.  But I know she is right.~L)

Never underestimate the power of what You have, its already yours- so Tune In.”  ~Dawn Exton atweeklyhoroscopes.com (and so it may be with soul.~L)

(If nothing is impossible and there is be a spiritual battle going on for my soul, I want my choices to be based in MY truth.  If angels and demons are whispering, I want to listen to MY angels and demons.  If there is such a thing as soul, then I will find mine FIRST, and learn to protect it while it makes this journey into matter. The whole of creation may be in the balance.  If anything is possible, then anything can change. Even soul. Even god.  Even truth.  Even the hearts and minds of humans.
My journey is my body and my soul on this Earth.  Now and now and now.  Nothing is yet decided.  None of this is done.  Be protected beyond your wildest imagining.  Imagine that there is grace and forgiveness and mercy for all of us.  Know you are blessed despite your sorrow.  Choose the best you can for unity, wholeness, love and good.  You are forging the vessel that becomes a chariot for the divine.  Please keep going.  Please trust who you are in your best moments.~L)

“The days are getting shorter. Plants and trees are winding down their cycle of growth. Sadness – and courage – are natural emotions as these changes are taking place.

That’s part of what the Chinese philosophy of the five phases or five elements is trying to convey: for example, sadness is part of the autumn season. Sadness isn’t an emotion to be avoided at all costs. Instead, sadness is simply part of nature.

So to celebrate the autumn equinox as the Chinese philosophers did, you might …

Stand facing west, considered the direction of autumn in ancient Chinese philosophy. Just stand for a few moments and honor the “westness” of autumn. Consider your dreams and visions, and the path on which you’re moving forward through your life.

Light white candles against the growing darkness of the season. Or place white flowers on your table. White is the color of autumn in the Chinese tradition.

Allow yourself to weep for things you have lost. Weeping is the sound of this season, according to Chinese philosophy.

Find the courage to face what’s ahead.”

“Pluto stations direct on the 26th, and brings to light all of that which is broken, which is deteriorating and no longer working because the bottom is falling out.  Things like racism and misogyny, are so often deeply entrenched within a society, we don’t even realize our complicit participation. So it is at these Pluto times we are told, Look at this, Look at this. And at these times we must not look away.
The important thing is to not stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery each day. ~ Albert Einstein

Mercury and Pluto have been ‘trine’ one another as they both came to stand still. When planets appear to station, and stand still in this way, they are much more powerful. Through this window, we are being given the opportunity to discover, to get to the bottom, to reveal. One of the other things that Pluto can bring to the surface as it stations, are things such as ancient relics, beautiful gems, and buried treasure.  Truth. It cannot be hidden forever.

All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.

~ Galileo Galilei

“With Pluto resuming direct motion on Monday, we are provided with the opportunity to take hold of this clarity and form a new perspective, which can last. Both Venus and Mars change signs this week. Venus moves from Libra into Scorpio and Mars moves from Sagittarius into Capricorn. This is another indicator for a shift in perspective. The Sun meets Jupiter in early Libra to make a conjunction on Monday. This is a strong indicator for positive thinking, which encourages us to make personal progress.”

“No matter how sacred, religious and utterly God/Goddessy a vibration or impulse seems – if it compels you to do things beyond your conscious control and Will, affecting your life in an adverse way – treat it as you would an addiction. There´s nothing wrong or shameful in that. But when your energy signature meets someone or something larger than itself that it cannot create a healthy relationship with – draw appropriate boundaries. Especially with Eris-Uranus conjunct tomorrow, I cannot understate the importance of spiritual and psychic boundaries – because this energy is HUGE.  (Many astrologers cite it as the background energy for WW2.  ~L)

Remember – as much as we may want to romanticize the Rising Feminine – Eris is the Goddess who basically caused the Trojan War. She threw down the Apple of Discord to a wedding party after she realized she didn´t get an invite. There are other ways to re-write and re-signify the Eris Myth, but that is the core. And at least a part of that energy will still play out in that narrative.

Coming from the Heart and striving to find a space of Detached Calmness through the Storm does not negate the need for Change nor does it invalidate the pain and suffering that so many have borne. It simply means that we will be in a better space to act upon our deeper impulses and drives in ways that do not cause unnecessary damage. You will act out passionately, in whatever way you see fit, so it is best to have a counter-point, an anchor which allows you to reflect upon what you´re doing, how and why.

Eris and Uranus square Vesta (23 Cancer) at this time. It is a potent, generationally defining moment for us all. We ask ourselves the question of who we truly are – and what we have, thus far, sacrificed of ourselves to fulfill some vision of service? For a woman, in particular, it is the prescription to forsake her identity, her emotions, her dreams, visions, and ideas … her wildness, her untameable, socially ´disrespectful´, sexual, irrepressible being so that a home and domestic sphere may exist for others.  (Again, 22 Cancer is my birth degree and has been the grist for my mill for a while.~L)

“We then ask, nay, realize that it is time to let go of such visions, as our most Authentic sense of Self is waiting to be birthed at this time.

Let yourself be you – as long as you do not hurt yourself or another in the process. (And no, walking out of a relationship or social arrangement of bondage and submission does not count as ´hurting another´ in this context). You don´t have to stop being a mother, a nurturer, a home-maker if you so choose – but you don´t have to be defined by those roles either. You don´t have to divorce them from the flame that is you.

Let others judge as they will. Let them walk away should your flame be too bright for them or force them to see that you can no longer be controlled.

This is your time to Roar.

Make it Loud, Proud – and from the Heart.

Blessings,

The new moon in Libra initiates us into a month of forward motion, growth, action and expansion. We get to move forward after months of working with the reviews that the Mars and Mercury retrograde had us go through.
This new moon sits with Jupiter, the planet of abundance, generosity and learning how to say yes to the goodness in our lives. Since this is the first new moon in Libra since Jupiter arrived there, it can help to unlock the potential of Jupiter’s year long transit through Libra.
Libra is the sign of relationship, peace, balance, harmony and beauty. This new moon wants to remind us of the power that inherently lies in our ability to connect with one another, the kind of peace that is possible when we work in balance with the world around us and the importance of saying yes to what will help us expand into our potential.
Because it sits with Jupiter, planet of growth and expansion and because it is in the beautifying, pleasing sign of Libra, this new moon is one that can help us to open the expansive possibility of living in a world that is based on equality, justice and peace for all. In order to strike balance, we must address what keeps us from it. The abuse of power always threatens the possibility of a peaceful existence.

This week Mars enters a new sign for the first time in 2016 (Mars spent the first 9 months of 2016 in Scorpio or Sagittarius due to its retrograde cycle). Capricorn is of the best signs it can be in. Mars in Capricorn is cool-headed, calls the shots, cuts ties with what drags it down unnecessarily and does not wonder what to do. Mars in Capricorn makes a plan and sticks to it. Mars in Capricorn reminds us that in order to win this battle we need a goal and the courage to see it through, no matter what may come.”

And so it is, Yoganauts.   Turns out the Eclipse series was my final Lunar Yoga Flow offering in Helena for a while.  I got my ticket yesterday and I leave for Prague on Saturday 8 October, without plans to return.  I am so excited I am levitating.  After repeated attempts to expand my world and visit the planet outside the US, I have found my way to launch.

I will keep the emails and the blog updated as much as I can, but for the first month and a half I will be studying to attain my Oxford Trinity CertTESOL (certificate to Teach English as a foriegn language) so I will be BUSY.  I already have homework!  You know how I love to study and do research and it won’t be long before I can get back to teaching yoga, I hope.  Along with the certification I am applying for a Czech visa, so I will be able to teach there.

This all came up so quickly that I may not have time to say goodbye in person, so I want you to know that I count each one of you among the things I am grateful for.  I am blessed to have known you and even though there is distance, I hope we maintain our communication.  Feel free to email me here, by clicking reply, commenting on the blog:  www.dogmoonyoga.wordpress.com and if I may ask your aid in this time of transition (turns out I’m not the world’s greatest financial planner–I thought having no credit cards for 10 years was a good thing, turns out the credit bureaus can’t even establish my identity!!) visiting Lunar Yoga Flow is Heading to Prague to access my crowdfunding campaign.  A very fond farewell, Yoganauts.  Till we meet again, Mind your heart. ~L

“Pluto Direct In Capricorn: September 26, 2016 – Done Drillin’

oil-drillPluto will turn direct at 14 degrees Capricorn in the early morning on Monday, September 26th. The planet will be supported by Mercury and Neptune and suffer no hard aspects so look for a smooth transition.

The words “drill down” come to mind. These words have merged together to become one, “drilldown”, in this century. I’m not sure that makes sense, but however you spell it, we’re done drillin’ down at this location. We’re packing up and moving on.

The easy aspects indicate we’ll be able to do so without upset or incident. I don’t know if you might find this good or bad. If you’ve lost something significant during this transit, you might find the lack of ceremony, disturbing.

If you have Cardinal planets, 0-13 degrees, you can consider yourself done with your Pluto transit. The next Pluto station will take place at 16 degrees in September / October, 2017.

Are you relieved?” ~www.elsaelsa.com

Yoganauts, you deserve some good news.

I could not let today’s remarkably beneficial aspects pass without saluting your spirit and wishing you love, joy and luck.  You survived a lot of shift, now it is time to thrive.

May this day be only the beginning of a time when you are liberated, illuminated and free.  We have survived a difficult time, let us celebrate our collective strength and humanity.  We do not have to mutely subsist in the broken model of culture that drags our beautiful planet and future ever closer to the abyss.  We do not have to passively endure the horrors we confront in the world today.  May your choices this day be loving, optimistic and bless this planet and future we share.  May this day and every one after be more filled with care and love than the one before.

“Mercury is going to station Direct again before the week is out on the 22nd. And as it approaches its direct station, Pluto will also be slowing for its direct station on the 26th. They will both be trine one another in this liminal time before and during these stations. Mercury retrograde periods can be quite insightful. This is even more so owing to Mercury’s trine to Pluto throughout the rest of September. The combination of these two are excellent for gaining insight and understanding; for research and getting to the bottom (the truth) of a situation; for disclosure and realization; or to unravel a puzzle or a mystery. Knowledge gained can be both profound and mind-altering, but it also requires honesty and the willingness to face our own inner truths, in order to make the most of it. What this period of time, through the 28th, is likely to bring:

  • A deep desire to get to the bottom of things, to understand how things work
  • Wanting to understand how the mind, and the psyche work
  • Doing deep work on our own minds, through deep analysis, which can bring profound understanding
  • Wanting to discuss or learn more about the deeper meaning of things
  • Wanting to discover the secrets to life and achieving happiness
  • Learning how to transform problems into happiness
  • Wanting to unravel a mystery, to reveal the truth: doing the research; investigating “

“On the day of the equinox, the center of the sun would set about 12 hours after rising – given a level horizon, as at sea, and no atmospheric refraction.  There are two reasons why we have more than 12 hours of daylight on the day of equinox. First, the sun is a disk, not a point of light. Second, the Earth’s atmosphere refracts (bends) sunlight. These factors add up to provide an additional 8 or so minutes of daylight on the day of the equinox at mid-temperate latitudes.”~Bruce McClure of earthsky.org

“The more willing we are to look at the muck of our minds and the misfortunes of our ego’s makeup, the greater our chances of living a life of depth and purpose are.  As Mercury becomes a visible morning star this week, we might even feel cautiously triumphant over our recent trials.

But let’s keep the emphasis on cautiously.

As the week comes to a close, Mercury will be in spectacular shape. Now direct and still in its own sign, Mercury is just enough ahead of the sun to mark a moment of prominence. The reemergence of this planet comes with an urgency of action and a powerful perception.

Just after it (the sun~L) enters the sign of harmony, beauty, relationships, balance and equality it will conjunct Jupiter, which entered Libra earlier this month. While a sun/Jupiter conjunction doesn’t usually signal a time of temperament, the sign in which the two collide does. This pairing can help us bounce back from the depth of feeling that abounded last week, thanks to the lunar eclipse in Pisces. Equinoxes are times of equal light and dark. In this moment, balance becomes us.”~chaninicolas.com

“We are about to enter into the Autumnal Equinox which occurs at the same time as the Sun enters into Libra on September 22. Libra is the sign of balance so it is fitting that the equinox occurs at the time when there are equal parts dark and light.  On the same day we we will be relieved to see Mercury station direct after its long retrograde in Virgo. ” ~chrisflischer.com

“The Sun just happens to align with Jupiter right now… And Mercury connects to the North Node… (it doesn’t get much better than that)… Jupiter is the “planet of good fortune” and Mercury is the “messenger of the gods”… Basically, this means is that the Big Spirit will find the ways to reveal to each of us what is needed for us to reach higher levels of life and love… The universe will reward us for our service to others… There is a very strong spiritual connection in place too… One that requires us to reach deep within ourselves to follow what we know to be real and true.”

“Changes are on the agenda in the areas of romance and finances as Venus the planet of love and values goes deep with passionate Scorpio starting on Friday. With Venus in Scorpio we resist superficial alliances and lean in for heart-felt soul connections.  Under its influence emotions run deep, passions run hot, and romance is sensuous. Watch for tendencies to engage in power struggles, or to use love, sex, or money as negotiating tools in personal relationships. There is a very good reason Scorpio is associated with power, intensity, and life changing events and relationships! Handle it with respect; and watch your life transform.”

“Today (September 21), Mercury makes a positive trine with Pluto. This in itself would be an interesting development, however, it’s made extra special by Mercury stationing with this harmonious connection, before turning direct tomorrow. It thus takes a link that would normally peak for only a day, and stretches it out over the course of three. What does this mean for us? Mercury ending its retrograde phase always helps us to think more clearly. Pluto’s influence suggests that we can finally see into the hidden heart of a matter.”~cainer.com

“A LAST QUARTER MOON occurs on Friday, September 23rd, 2016, at 5:56 AM EDT. On Friday morning, the Last Quarter Moon is exact, when the Sun in Libra squares the Moon in Cancer.
This is not the best time to start a major project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes a descent into unconsciousness. It’s time to begin finishing up the details of that which was conceived at the last New Moon. What revelations did you have last week? What did they mean for you? What can be done now?”
Image result for foxes in fall equinox art
The Sun is in Libra from September 22-October 22. Libra rules relationships with others as mirrors of ourselves. Meeting others halfway, compromise, and negotiation come under the rule of Libra. The focus is now on balance–finding balance and harmony through art and relationships with others. Libra is the sign of the peacemaker. However, life is not always peaceful with Libra in its attempt to restore balance. Decision-making can be more challenging while the Sun is in Libra. Libra weighs both sides of any situation, and sometimes this process seems endless! In Libra, the Sun is concerned about not rocking the boat and not rubbing others the wrong way. Tactfulness, style, tolerance, and sociability are some of the keywords for Libra. On the shadow side, Libra can be self-serving, indecisive, passive-aggressive, and superficial.

Retrograde Mercurypkvirgo

Mercury is Retrograde in the sign of Virgo from August 30-September 22, 2016.Mercury is retrograde this week until the 22nd, after which it’s in its post-retrograde shadow.

There is absolutely a positive side to Mercury Retrograde. This period is best used for re-organizing and reflecting. We look at the world a little differently–through different filters–and can come up with some very important inner revelations. It may be difficult to communicate them under this influence, but not everything needs to be rationalized.”~cafeastrology.com

Clarissa of Viva Combusta! writes;

“Today, September 5th, 2016, the most important moment in astrology and astronomy history (maybe ever) was announced. Today, to commemorate what would’ve been Freddie Mercury’s 70th birthday, asteroid #17473 was renamed Freddiemercury. Asteroid #17473 was discovered in 1991, the same year Mercury left this world, providing proof he really was from another dimension. As I’ve written about before, any celestial body worth its salt will have a synchronistic connection and backstory to its name; the synch of Freddiemercury is all the proof I need that this virtuoso cosmic body should be used in every astrology reading henceforth!”~Clarissa of Viva Combusta!  (Did I mention Clarissa of Viva Combusta!?)

“As the Sun enters Libra, it also approaches the Super-Galactic Center (now at 1 Libra): what I interpret as one of the most powerful points of karmic/spiritual influence that we know of in our understanding of the cosmos through an astrological perspective. Between September 22-24, you will have the experience and opportunity to either re-negotiate, initiate or perhaps even dissolve long standing energetic contracts.

At the same time, Mercury (14 Virgo) will be trined Pluto Retrograde (14 Capricorn). In fact,Mercury stations direct on the 22nd (same date as the Equinox, depending on time zone – 21st night for those of you in the Americas), hours before the Sun enters Libra.  You may find new answers arising to situations that have been taxing your mental nerves for the past month coming up after the Equinox. Look especially at questions or decisions you took around September 6.

I see this as a powerful time for us to reconsider how we interpret our paths of service, healing and practical manifestation. Do we serve in ways that disempower the self, or others? Do we create cycle of dependency or sustainable self-sufficiency? Does our work tilt the scales in favour of a socio-political status quo, or do we, in our own ways, challenge it?

Mercury will also square the Great Attractor (14 Sagittarius). It is a powerful time to orient one´s self with a Path, Paradigm, Teacher, Mentor or Journey which will lead you to a different horizon.  In the buildup to the Equinox – on September 21st – we also see the Gemini Moon squaring Saturn, the North Node, the South Node, Neptune and Mercury. There´s going to be a lot of emotional intensity and the possibility for breakthrough coming through the form of an Intense! Grand Mutable Cross. It is … so incredible to note that the Cross (made by way of the Moon´s transit) ends right before the Sun enters Libra! ! ! Wowza! You could not make that up!!!

(May~L) You find the road or Path to Spirit that truly brings you in alignment with the unknowable, formless, nameless – utterly transcendental – experience of the Sacred. We are also called to hone and harness more sophisticated and grounded paths of service that channel this energy whilst moving away from sacrifice-suffering-oriented models of growth that ultimately get us entrapped further in the karmic game.
It is an excellent time to be moving past victim-abuser dynamics passed down the generational line and reproduced in one´s personal and professional partnerships.  There´s going to be power play here and the best way to get out of it is to simply walk away.

Mars (26 Sagittarius) will be nearly conjunct the Galactic Center of the Milky Way (27 Sagittarius). Find your Path and Launch! It echoes Mercury´s square to the Great Attractor in a powerful way. Choose a road, and if you find it´s the wrong one for you later .. you still get to change it. Either way … Initiate!

Now … for the two BIG celestial shifts that we´re already in the process of building up towards: Pluto stationing Direct. And …. URANUS CONJUNCT ERIS Pt. 2 (of 3) !!!!!
Eris represents the Rising energy of the Feminine and Uranus brings in the possibilities of Change, Transformation and Awakening.  Bear in mind the lesson of Libra: What will it be? Balance through Peace, or the Blade of War? You – We – will all pick.

If everything gets too intense – just remember to breathe. You win points just for being here and doing no intentional harm to Self and Others.”

“The Libra Equinox Restores Balance and Opens Doors to Harmony
The heavens are busy this week and our home solar system is on the move. The Sun enters Libra that is the time of the equinox, Venus goes into Scorpio, there is the Last Quarter Moon, and Mercury goes direct. Most have been anxiously waiting for Mercury to move out of retrograde that has seemed to be the culprit of excessive chaos and problems, but the issues and events have been as much about the three eclipses and the Saturn to Neptune alignment.”Image result for foxes in fall equinox artSorry about the tangent, but this time of year makes me think about these therianthropes.  The definitions are from Wikipedia.  The glorious images are from Tea Fox Illustrations.~L
“The symbol for Libra is the scale that is assumed represents justice although justice is ascribed to Sagittarius while the Libra scales is judgment.  (Didja follow that?  Quite a sentence!~L)  To be in alignment is the ideal and the ideal is an exclusive energy. (!~L)  The realization is that everything is in perpetual motion within this dimensional concept of cause and effect, then the concept of harmony results by reaction, as a process. Within is the deeply stirring Venus in Scorpio that uproots your desires and strengthening either conviction for fulfillment and pushes your passion.
If you want to know something about yourself you have this time to gain that awareness and understanding. It can be a time of revelation about your beliefs and how they have orchestrated your lifestyle.”

Well, now.  This has been a tough passage, Yoganauts.  I am quite surprised by how difficult it was to remain focused (if you can call it focused) and write this in a timely manner.  I had hoped to finish it this afternoon, but my intentions don’t seem to have much pull in 3D reality right now.  I will just have to hope that my power is at work in other places.  Catch up with you next week, when this all has lightened up a bit.

A Buddhist Prayer of Forgiveness
If I have harmed any one in any way,
either knowingly or unknowingly
through my own confusions,
I ask their forgiveness.
If any one has harmed me in any way,
either knowingly or unknowingly
through their own confusions,
I forgive them.
And if there is a situation
I am not yet ready to forgive,
I forgive myself for that.
For all the ways that I harm myself,
negate, doubt, belittle myself,
judge or be unkind to myself,
through my own confusions,
I forgive myself.

So Yoganauts!
Firstly, let me apologize for the sheer bulk of these transmissions.  This eclipse is so aspect-dense or “concrescent” (to bastardize Whitehead’s phrase) that I don’t want you to miss any symbols that might be meaningful to you.  My chart is lit up like a neon sign with correlations at this time and it’s so satisfying to feel like the origin of all that is left me a love-note written in stars.  The both/ and? Parts of it read like a death-threat/ransom note/hate mail.  Still, good to have a letter after all these years . . .
I have done as much digging on the SGC as we are going to get before today’s eclipse, but I want to share with you some interesting findings.  Firstly, please check out Planet Waves’ Youtube video on the present moment:

This is the most credible source of information on the SGC (besides Phillip Sedgwick’s Skyscraping ezine–another story) that I have yet found AND is the basis for what I am about to write here.  I don’t think it’s a secret that I disdain the Law of Attraction (along with many other tenets) of the New Age Cosmology.  I don’t like hierarchies (even yogic ones) and I think what matters most in ANY situation is MY highest truth (take that, Catholic education).  So it was a giant relief to find Eric Francis shedding some practical light on how to “cast your vote” during an eclipse that made sense to me and rang true as well.

Setting intentions is what we call the prayer-like thingy we do at the new moon, when we start the cycle.  At this full moon we are experimenting with ACTION.  I know. I know, it’s Mercury retrograde and the sky says ‘wait’ in a lot of ways so I’m not necessarily talking about signing a contract or buying tech or vehicles but I do want to suggest that we try taking a tangible step.  I want to suggest that you bring spirit to matter in some physical way.  So here’s my idea:

I’m going to identify my biggest hang up, my most gigantic deadlock, the one that is just too big and will take too many years to unravel (Pisces) and I’m going to offer it up (Mars) against the backdrop of universal consciousness (SGC).  This thing is a source of anger, an ancestral holding, generations labored under this problem and it has remained unresolved.  It’s like “the existential wound” from my perspective.  (In my case this is going to be about money/power and its kissing cousin–war/love.  There, that’s as vulnerable as I can take right now.)

In this experiment, I am going to sit down (prolly in the grass) and MAKE CONTACT.  This is a bit different from my usual meditation.  I am seeking the source of cosmic intelligence IN ME.  Look, imagine I am a sunbeam.  As far as I travel away from the sun, the sun is still in me, still my origin.  That’s the thing I am trying to seek.  The SGC is the deep background and is the inward origin, both/and.  This is my personal creation myth; I can access it through my personal vision (yes, that again).  It’s my cosmic homing device.  I am making myself available to the origin of all that is beyond experience, so if it seems familiar or is backloaded with the usual characters, I need to drill down deeper.

That’s all.  I don’t have to make some sort of big deal about it unless I want to.  This is, supposedly, the source of all consciousness after all.  It’s bound to “catch my drift”, however I am going to undergo the formality of actually making this occur.  I am going to see to its HAPPENING. The thing is (in case you haven’t noticed with our “personal truth” experiment) it is really easy to forget the personal vision.  It’s super-simple for the agenda of others to take over our whole lives until we have no say at all. Until we abandon our free will so thoroughly that we destroy instead of create, that we hate instead of love, survive instead of thrive.

Maybe free will is just a muscle that is starting to atrophy in humanity.  I am making a stand here for myself and for those who come after me.  I am going to take my heaviest burden and with no ritual, no intercession, no witness lay it at the feet of the cosmic “what if”, the origin, the thing that had an appetite for this mess before time was time.  Intentions are great, but I sense that this time I need to do some heavy lifting in matter.  I need to learn to see my resources in a new way and identify that the first cause, the origin, source, goddess/god is IN ME.  Not that I am it wholly, or some inflated shit, just that the phone line is open and it’s not OUT THERE.  It’s in here.  In me.

This eclipse is so well aspected to be the point of contact, the moment where a genuine and humble inquiry empowers your own spiritual perspective.  Create and cultivate your inner space, your private self for just a moment today.  Lay down your heaviest burden there.  Hand it over.  Surrender your deepest anger.  Unburden.  Release.  Let it go. That’s all.  Don’t do some smarmy, New Age certified hokey-pokey and turn yourself around, never think of it again or whatever else unless it really serves you. Just give yourself and what is divine in you an honest moment with the nature of your anger and the root of your pain.  You are the living ancestor of your line.  Your ability to create change, to create freedom is unprecedented.  And who knows, the part of you that started all this just might be listening today.

I really dislike telling you what to do (the irony!), but I sense this could work.  Imana try it.

Nondenominational, unconditional blessings on everything you are and those in Standing Rock.
Mind your heart,
~L

These superstructures [SGC and GC] are literally perpendicular to each other with their centers at the zero points of the Cardinal signs. [GC/Capricorn/December solstice – SGC/Libra/September equinox].

At the September equinox the sun moves into the sign Libra and the super galactic plane at the SGC, the hub of this super galaxy, while the earth enters Aries and moves into the super galactic plane opposite the SGC, away from the inner hub at the outer rim of this super galaxy. The sun reaches the climactic mid-point in the sign Scorpio (Halloween, Days of the Dead); the earth reaches this point in Taurus. Afterwards each begins to move out of the super galactic plane toward the galactic plane.~http://www.souledout.org/

“If you like synchronicity, here is something interesting. Through all of 2009 and part of 2010, Chiron was in a conjunction with both the ancient and modern rulers of Pisces — Jupiter and Neptune in late Aquarius. So Chiron enters Pisces all charged up on Pisces energy, and we have been getting wave pulses of this combination for many months. The combination of Chiron with any Pisces factor is focusing that which was previously invisible.

So what do we think of when we think of Pisces? What is our experience of this energy? It’s a fairly wide spectrum, ranging from the highest reaches of the imagination to our direct experience of God or soul to the most liberating and soulful erotic pleasure; to the depths of denial, deception, drink and drugs. (Neptune has a lot of keywords starting with the letter D.) In all, Chiron in Pisces is about helping us see what we have been missing or not paying attention to.

If we focus the strengths of Pisces, that would feel like clarifying our vision for our lives. Most of us have a really hard time with this; many people have no interest at all. Pisces is full of ideas, ideals, and the desire to transcend physicality. Which of these work and which do not? Chiron is calling for a sober assessment of these, to test for what are authentic values and which are things we see through our rosy, New Age glasses.  You could look at Chiron in Pisces as the focusing of dharma: acting as if to hold the world together.” ~www.planetwaves.com

“On September 16, 2016, the sun exits the constellation Leo and enters the constellation Virgo. The sun will remain in front of the constellation Virgo the Maiden until it enters the constellation Libra the Scales on October 30. Please notice that we’re talking about astronomical constellations here, not astrological signs. You’ll find dates of sun’s entry into each constellation of the zodiac, here.

When the equinox arrives on September 22, 2016 – bringing autumn to the Northern Hemisphere and spring to the Southern Hemisphere – the sun will be in front of the constellation Virgo. And so it has been for thousands of years.

However, over the long course of time, the sun hasn’t always been in front of Virgo at the Northern Hemisphere’s autumnal equinox (Southern hemisphere’s spring equinox).

And, what’s more, the sun won’t remain in front of this constellation at the September equinox, indefinitely.

It was in the year 730 B.C. that the Northern Hemisphere’s autumnal equinox sun passed out of the constellation Libra and into the constellation Virgo. Looking into the future, the September equinox sun will cross over into the constellation Leo in the year 2439. These dates are based upon the constellation boundaries as defined by the Astronomical Astronomical Union in the 1930s.”

“The Moon is already in Pisces and heading toward the eclipse this Friday.  That coupled with a Venus opposite Uranus and Mars square the Sun makes this an unpredictable, crazy, eye-opening weekend. You may see deep down into yourself (or have another reveal yourself to you in surprising ways) and even be scared at what you find.  What you will find are the emotions, the passions, and the desires that make you YOU.  You as a unique expression of Source with a special gift that only YOU can give. Time to get out there and strut your stuff!

With this Jupiter in Libra, I’m excited to partner with others and co-create something new together.  Where two or more are gathered, an alchemy exists that neither could imagine or create alone.
If two eclipses aren’t enough, now we have a third!  The first in mid August was Brahma, envision the future in order to create it.  The second was Sept. 1, Vishnu, gather together the resources, strength and power to create the change.  Now we have Shiva, out with the old and bring in the new!” ~Kaypacha Lescher at www.newparadignastrology.com

“In the sign of watery and illusive Pisces, and following the Virgo Solar Eclipse, we are being advised to seek solace and healing, even in the midst of turmoil. Especially if you are still in turmoil. The Lunar Eclipse is in the same degree of the recent Jupiter/Chiron opposition that we had in August. This is the one that had to do with feeling overwhelmed trying to be everywhere at once; trying to fix everything and everyone; generating deep wells of compassion, but then putting aside our own needs in order to be of service to others. In the process many found themselves worn out and limping along on the last threads of whatever energy they had. We’re still recovering.
During Eclipse season, the veil between the worlds becomes thinner, and the capacity for the Soul to effect a healing catharsis is greater now than it would be at other times. Chiron, the Wounded Healer, is closely involved with this Eclipse, as is the Spiritual Warrior, Mars in Sagittarius. Mars/Chiron could expose some sort of pain or deep discomfort that needs to be healed. (Krishnamurti!  Ya think??!!!~L) The impulse is to want to do something immediately, to take some sort of action now. The key is to do so skillfully, without causing even more damage, than has already been done.
Denial, or inaction is not an option either. To repress or avoid facing these wounds that are being exposed, is to miss a very important opportunity. But there is such a thing as skill in the performance of action. And couple that with compassion, and understanding, and you might just have a formula for success. To act with anger will only wound, and further subject you to drowning. To act from a place of compassion, wanting everyone to be free from suffering, will ultimately lead to healing.” ~www.astrologybylauren.com

This part is technical.  For geeks only!!
“The Moon, Sun and Minerva square the asteroid Pholus (24 Sagittarius). Pholus is associated with the nature of revelation that – once known – cannot be unknown – and so creates an irreversible effect. It speaks to the power of knowledge, and with it forms of change that it necessitates. It ripples through the cosmos, affecting us through the generational lines. According this fantastic article (on the power of Pholus and what it can bring to you – astropost.blogspot.com/2010/04/pholus-files.html ), it is also an energy that can put a stop to addictions. I read that as a call to end the compulsive, sub-conscious impulses that lead us to karmic decisions, cycles and experiences that we are ready to integrate and ultimately, no longer be governed by.

Now … the Galactic Center of the Milky Way is at 27 Sagittarius, 3 degrees away from Pholus. You´re going to find your paths, guides, mentors, gurus, teachers, astrologers, oracles, etc. to profound be way-showers at this time. Sometimes you will be lovingly brought to a new space or direction, and at other times, forcibly kicked out. You may feel drawn to or repelled from a particular path or person – and that is orient. It is all part of your initiation unto a new journey or chapter.

With this powerful energy of revelation comes change. The information you receive now may sweep you off your feet in a good way – or – make you feel like the rug you´re standing on has just been pulled away from underneath. Different people will respond differently and so there is no hard and fast rule. I would recommend grounding practices, whilst consciously choosing to remain present, open (and protected) to whatever emerges through this transit.
The healing potential of this eclipse is emphasized as the Sun sextiles, whilst the Moon trines Panacea ´the cure to all ills´ at 23 Scorpio. Those with bodies near 23-24 Aquarius (My Mars is 21~L) will experience this as a powerful Yod (Finger of Fate), bring you swiftly to karmic crossroads. Here you will choose what ideological framework you continue to situate your ideals and sense of individuality within as you navigate the depths in the search of healing, or paths of service. It is in this search that Panacea offers her remedies
.

With Chiron at 22 Pisces and Atlantis (it’s an astreroid~L) at 22 Cancer (my birth degree!~L), we see the role of psychic healing, wounding, trauma and energies that connect with past-lifetimes in oceanic/underwater civilizations heightened. Larimar (the gemstone) can be an intense, but effective catalyst in working through the deeper emotions and memories these alignments evoke. Together with Panacea, Isis and the Moon, Chiron and Atlantis come together to form a potent Grand Water Trine in the skies. One that brings out a wide range of emotions, intuitive, karmic and psychic possibilities and experiences.

What also strikes me as curious is the fact that the March 2016 New Moon / Total Solar Eclipse also had Chiron conjunct the Moon, just as we now experience. The Wounded Healer asks us to look back to then, and now, to see what lessons we have learnt, and will continue to learn hereafter. There is the choice to transcend a particular cycle of pain and wounding, and another to accept it as a path of service. Neither choice is more sacred than the other and let no one bully you into thinking otherwise. Charoite is a gemstone that can help those seeking clarity on this particular question.
(1) Jupiter conjuncts the Super-Galactic Center (1 Libra)
(2) Mars (23 Sagittarius) trines Psyche (23 Leo) / Phaethon (22 Leo) and Uranus/Eris (23 Aries), creating a Grand Fire Trine at the 23rd degree of all Fire signs
(3) Saturn (10 Sagittarius) squares Neptune (10 Pisces), Eris (23 Aries) conjuncts Uranus (23 Aries), Saturn squares the North Node (11 Virgo) which opposes Neptune and the South Node (11 Pisces)
(4) Vesta (20 Cancer) squares Venus (21 Libra) and Uranus-Eris (23 Aries) I see this as a clarion call to (Pluto in) Capricorn, which gives us the opportunity to reconfigure our visions of power and the role of the feminine in the institutions that contain them.
(5) South Node (11 Pisces) trines whilst North Node (11 Virgo) sextiles Black Moon Lilith and Juno (13 Scorpio)
It is time to realize that the Dark Womb is Sacred Ground, rather than the chamber of shame, neglect, abuse and judgement.  (The both/and element?  It’s time to bring the wounded masculine hero home from the war we asked him to fight–the war against Spirit (which ironically, is the Womb).~L)
Those of you with placements near 11-13 Cancer (my Venus is 10~L) will experience this intensely as a Grand Water Trine, whereas those with placements near 11-13 (My Chiron is 13~L) Aries will experience this as a pivotal Yod (Finger of Fate).
General Gemstone Tip. Try working with Sugilite. I find it resonant with the energies of the Goddess, in her many, many forms (and states of formlessness).

“We are drawn into a loss of ego and a surrender to a greater purpose. All the while the Sun in Virgo, which is the maiden with grain, represents the rich potential of the harvest, the sense of security that the world will provide what we need.

So, do we go with the high vibe of faith in a spiritual reality and a recognition of our human connection to each other, or do we turn away from spiritual inspiration and retreat into our separated ego? Do we feel the security of being a part of a greater natural abundance or do we fall into anxiety about lack and insecurity? These are the questions posed by this Lunar Eclipse.”~www.webvictoria.com

“This week builds to the Full Harvest Moon on Friday the 16th; and there will be tension building up towards it. On Monday, Mercury is fighting with Mars; on Tuesday, the Sun is fighting with Mars; Wednesday looks good (whew!) except Wednesday is a Moon Alert day. (Good day to goof off.) On Thursday, the Moon is fighting with Saturn just before Friday’s Full Moon, which also fights with fiery Mars. Holy Solar Panels! The thing to know is that patience is the antidote to anger. (And anger has no purpose other than to make everyone miserable.) The Dutch say that a handful of patience is worth more than a bushel of brains. And of course, the brain is only as strong as its weakest think.”

The Sabian Symbol for 24 Pisces at this Lunar Eclipse is: ‘This tiny island seems lost in a broad ocean, but its happy inhabitants have created a world all of their own’.
This speaks of spiritual strength, the ability to have a strong spiritual anchor and practice

(Neptune and Chiron in Pisces), whatever is happening in the world.

* The Moon aligns with Chiron in Pisces
* Two mutable T-squares with Mars and Saturn in Sagittarius as the focus points

* Pluto is stationing in Capricorn, coming to a halt on Sept. 26th
* Neptune aligns with the South Node in Pisces

What if the greatest gift you could give yourself is liberating your heart energies?
What is a healthy way to connect to your inner divinity?
What might shift if you allowed yourself to be “fully-human” rather than “super-human”?

Do you have an Ascendant or any personal planets in 19-29 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius?”

(Ok, this is just for fun.  If you need the real coordinates to the SUPER GALACTIC CENTER, which is the prevailing super-massive black hole near Galaxy M-87, write me.  I have them.  While I am still trying to work out what this thing is that resides at 2 degrees Libra (tropical) and 7 degrees Virgo (sidereal) I can say that astronomically it eats EVERYTHING that gets near it and it is a point of gravitation and radiation discovered around 1918.  Astrologically, it is said to be a point of radiant super consciousness, wisdom and high level downloads of the mental and “a-ha” variety.  It is said to be very positive and active with Jupiter and Mercury in our lunar weather through to October 11.  Could be interesting on September 25 and 26, when it opposes the Uranus~Eris conjunction, but all else looks pretty happy.~L)

The new ~12-year Jupiter-Makemake synodic cycle begins under the auspices of the Super Galactic Center in the Virgo (sidereal) Cluster of Galaxies.

“Astrologically, the Super Galactic Centre can be thought of as the spiritual mother center from which life emerges and spiritual nourishment and guiding wisdom expresses. The Super Galactic Centre provides opportunity for our greater wellbeing, but only if we are willing to relinquish personal scenarios or past events in our lives that may seem that, if we let them go, the ramifications will result in our total demise. However, it is only through the surrender of the past into this massive cosmic essence of pure (selfless) Divine Love that allows our re-emergence, our re-birth, into a new light of being.
This requires an inversion in consciousness (you’re a Yoganaut, you got this~L)—a conscious act where we pull the stream of our past experience into the singularity of the moment, allow it to be consumed in the ever-present now, and re-express self into a new stream unfolding into the future. This can feel as if our world is being turned inside out as our lives are re-defined. Super Galactic Centre invites us to empty ourselves and become pure vessels of spirit, committed to the fulfillment of the paths of our souls in the here and now, moment-by-moment, true to the heart of the Virgin principle.”
~Nick Anthony Fiorenza at www.lunarplanner.com

“The grinding gears and heavy weight of this year’s challenges will come to an end on September 17 when Mars officially leaves Scorpio (this is Vedic,~L).  Saturn’s harsh pressure will release, and courageous Mars will shift into the free and expansive fire of Sagittarius. Your drive and momentum should pick up even more after Mercury goes direct on September 21.

A unique three month period is approaching that will magnify the naga snake power throughout the world. A special alignment of planets called Kala Sarpa Yoga, or “The Serpent of Time,“ will entwine around the karmic axis of the eclipse (the north and south nodes of the moon) and amplify the shadow trickster, Rahu.
On a global level this could trigger sudden change, disasters, scandals and deception in the months to come.  The days leading up to the US election – October 27 through November 7 – will be strongly influenced by this Kala Sarpa yoga.

In yoga, the word tapas, which literally translates as “heat,” is often used to describe hard work anddisciplined focus (viveka?~L). The fiery heat of tapas purifies the spirit by burning away what is unwanted.   If we are ready to take the heat, this lunar eclipse offers a unique opportunity for rebirth.

Salamander – Fluidity, Metamorphosis, Radical Change

Metamorphosis, what I think of as inevitable, radical change, always involves anxiety, sleepless nights, and stepping through a wall of fear. The moment we step through our fears we begin to have a different relationship with self and with others. It can be hard when you’re stepping through your fears to be around others who are stuck in theirs, and believe me you will notice. It’s not up to you to tell them though, that they need to step through their fear, that’s up to them to discover. Bless them and get on with your life. You take care of your side of the street. What I find particularly helpful when I’m going through radical change is I imagine myself wrapped in a black velvet cloak; that way all the actions I’m taking have time to cook inside me free of outside interference. In my experience metamorphosis is a solitary journey.
Sailing is a moment-by-moment experience. You don’t get all bent over the obstacles and challenges in your path; you simply accept their presence, tact around them, and continue to sail for the far shore that you can’t see yet, but you know is there. Your will and the will of wind, water, and climate are in perfect synchronicity — fluid.

Stay above the fray. There’s more to this week than a mere Mercury retrograde square Mars. This is also a week that contains a full moon/lunar eclipse in Pisces. This is a week full of emotional high-tides and temptations to run away with our emotions.

The lunar eclipse is also square Mars, making this lunation one that feels a little testy, a little emotional, a little raw, like it digs a little close to the wound.

This lunar eclipse is conjunct Chiron, the Wounded Healer (the Misaligned Architect?~L). Chiron is half-human, half-animal.”

This eclipse sits with the south node. The south node is a point that some astrologies relate to the past, some to the psychic energy held in the unconscious, some to the downward pull of energy or a place of loss or difficulty. Mystical Worlds Open through the Pisces Lunar Eclipse

“The Pisces Lunar Eclipse on Friday is amazing energy that resonates all week and throughout September. This is a very mystical Moon that enlightens all who want to tap into other realms and realities. The three eclipses, this being the third since the first on August 18 have created concentrated energy lasting for months that has, and is increasing sensitivity and intuition. The overall trend and mindset in society is being infiltrated with subtle awareness that challenges the status quo with feelings and thoughts that originate from deep within the mind and spirit.

This triple blanket of lunar and solar dynamic is combined with Mercury Retrograde and the Saturn-Neptune angle to give the world a great jolt of reality and need to work through the meaning of cause and effect. What is done has an impact and all actions have a reaction. The undercurrent is about personal responsibility and working with the greater consciousness.

The Full Moon Eclipse in Pisces at 1:06 PM is when the Moon and Sun oppose each other, the Moon in Pisces and the Sun in Virgo being opposite signs. Work to have completed by this time your projects and what you want to be finished. The energy peaks and then drops. Visualization and seeing with a wider view than usual benefits everything you do. Be ready to go into repose and take a break at this time so that you can replenish your energy. Heightened awareness of your surroundings and the environment is strong.

Colors & Stones for the week

Amethyst; moonstone; crystals of all shades and especially clear; topaz in all colors; tiger eye; amber

Oils & Herbs for the week

Mint; orange; frankincense; cedar; redwood; patchouli; lotus

The higher octave of the Pisces eclipse is attunement to your spirit and soul so that you may think outside-the-box rather than follow along current movements and trends. Small signals remind you that you are not intended to be a follower, but your own voice in the world. Compassion and spiritual bonding are powerful energies manifesting right now.

The lunar eclipse in August was in Aquarius that affected mass consciousness and global issues with unusual and at times erratic reactions. The great drive for unity was complicated by the solar eclipse in Virgo that prodded to maintain reason and logic. Within that mix was the profound, eighteen year cycle of Saturn square Neptune that held everyone’s attention to major events and world chaos. Now, the gentle energy of Pisces opens doors to seeing beyond public opinion and trends and yet you are more sensitive to those energies as well.

(I can see the world I want to go to and there is a gigantic wall in front of it.  The way will be revealed, but it is not going to be the way I thought. I have to remember, I invited spirit, consciously, to direct me to where I needed to go.  The LYF experiment is not over yet.  Things not working out the way my ego dictates is part of it. Sigh.~L)

This is an excellent week to tune into your higher mind, inner self and the self that is the core of your truth and guidance. The very next major angle after the eclipse with significant influence is Mars trine Uranus on the next day that sparks a strong impulse for sudden flashes of awareness.

Within the dreamy atmosphere of the eclipse is fast moving and unique impressions. This could be manifest through dreams, in meditation, while absent-mindedly driving or absorbed in a book or movie. The mind easily wanders and is receptive to unexpected psychic thoughts.

The etheric veil between worlds opens, through which you may travel and also receive otherworldly visitors. The mystical rays offer balance and relief from the outside world.  (Sunday looks really powerful and super positive.~L)

“If you can approach the energy this week with a sense of humor, flexibility, and wonderment then the contrast won’t knock you off your center, but it will allow you to move gracefully through the challenges. We are about to enter into a time when the emphasis will be on equality, diplomacy, harmony, and partnerships. The contrast we experience this week will help us to come up with win-win solutions as we move forward, because we will be able to identify clearly what works for us and what doesn’t.”  ~newdawnscopes.com at 12house.com

eye-of-storm

“One scripture used to puzzle me when I was a young fundamentalist Christian minister. It’s when Jesus says, “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” Not to wade into deep theological waters here, but I don’t think this means Jesus wasn’t dedicated to peace. It suggests that sometimes the way to peace is through strife.

Even peacenik Venus supports this message when she counters shocking Uranus by opposition on Sunday. Yet, Mercury brings with him a dawning clarity as he steps slowly away from the bosom of the Sun. He transforms into a morning star that shines for peace amidst antagonism. It’s a peace forged by confronting unsavory details and sharp edges. Don’t shy away from that. Embrace it. Step into the eye of the storm.” ~http://unlockastrology.com

“The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which began at the New Moon. It is an emotional time–-a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships. Lunar Eclipses are about relationships and polarities. With the Virgo-Pisces service axis involved, this Lunar Eclipse presses us to look more closely at our needs, lacks, and wants in our lives. We are pushed to find a balance between day-to-day functions and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Virgo) and vision, spiritual health, disorder, and the infinite (Pisces). Virgo rules the tools and techniques that we use to deal with day-to-day life, while Pisces rules the tools that we use to deal with our spiritual selves. This energy echoes the energies of the Saturn-Neptune square in some ways, pitting realism against idealism. The key to balance lies in identifying and expressing our spiritual needs while maintaining order in our everyday lives. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire–-we would either be living in chaos or excessive order.”~cafeastrology.com

“Full Moons and Lunar Eclipses bring issues in our lives to fulfillment. Our emotions are heightened, and there is often some drama involved with the house, sign, and any contacted planets activated by the Full Moon. The areas of life activated by the eclipse may see dramatic turns, after which the path is clear to move forward. Note that whatever “happens” at this time is nothing truly new. The issues have been brewing inside of us, and emotions have been building. Something comes to light at the time of the Full Moon, and if we get in touch with our feelings, we can get a better idea of what needs to change, or what needs to go.”~cafeastrology.com

“With the health and service axis (Pisces-Virgo) involved, health or work issues may come to the fore. As well, the ability to set boundaries to the amount of service we render can become a major issue. Situations that test our faith, or magnify our fears and doubts, may be part of the picture. Secrets may be revealed, and these can include discovering secrets of our own nature from deep within. For some, a new “calling” will surface in the coming six months. A new line of work that better matches our inner nature, desire to serve, or emotional make-up may unfold in the months following this eclipse, particularly if the natal Sun, sixth/twelfth houses, or tenth house is activated. We may discover that we need more rest or attention to our spiritual nature than we are currently allowing ourselves. This is a time when lunar energy emerges and is most potent. It’s a time when we can tap into our more idealistic, imaginative, and visionary nature. Our hearts open, and issues of trust and faith are in focus. Decisions made now are emotionally-driven.”~cafeastrology.com

The Moon will just be passing from Aquarius into Pisces, in the nakshatra called Purva Bhadrapada, a gateway from the material world into the ethereal. This is a great time to let go of some of our attachments and practice trusting in source as we surrender to the flow.

Harvest Moon

The Harvest Moon is the Full Moon that occurs closest to the autumn equinox (September 22nd), and brings with it a few nights of very bright moonlight under which farmers are able to harvest their crops. (The Moon normally rises about one hour later each night, but for this week he will rise only half-an-hour later per day, giving much brighter evenings.) This is also a time where we energetically begin to harvest that which has come from our efforts put forth throughout the year, as we move into a more inward period for the darker months (in the northern hemisphere). It is also a potent moment to offer our prayers and to harvest the bounty of growth that comes with our own self-effort in shadow work.” ~somyadevi.com

“The deity for this nakshatra is Aja Ekapada, “the one-footed goat,” who is related to Rudra, a destructive form of Shiva. The destructive nature of Shiva is that which allows us to destroy one thing in order for that energy to transform, rise again, and grow into its new phase of evolution. He also offers us the power to destroy illusion and attachment, which is a good tool to have at hand at the time of an eclipse.”

(So the beauty of this moment of flowering, that is such an amazing powerful energy, is that it perfectly coincides with the timing of our Lunar Yoga Flow class.  We have been at it for a year, Yoganauts.  One of the first and most persistent axes (dimensions) that we discussed is this Virgo~Pisces crucible.  You know this territory (and if you are like Angie, you are sick to death of it) but let me reiterate: what is being eclipsed out of your life cannot come with you as you go on.  It is just a misalignment, a misunderstanding.
It’s my chance to see how I deal with being corrected, now that I am more experienced.
This is, for our culture, about letting go of patriarchy or the idea that I can avoid my metaphysical lessons (or any other lessons) by hiding behind science or government or might (or anything else).  It’s my chance to be vulnerable, show how much I care and ask for help.  WITHOUT A PROXY, DISGUISE OR NOTE FROM MY MOM.  Gaud, I hope I don’t get left standing out there alone again, but I might.~L)
“If you need a break from all of the astrological intensity being handed out this year, I think this is your chance. This is the lesson being offered that will help free you from any feelings of chaos or confusion.”~somyadevi.com

What if the tension I am feeling IS the hold-up?
What if this is what it feels like to ALLOW DIVINE TIMING when you are wearing the earth as a body?
What if my only job is to repeatedly ALIGN and stay in the flow as often as I can?
What if all the other work is already done and I should be celebrating because I know I made it through?

At the personal level, Vesta opposing Pluto brings about situations in which “work” is used to come out on top, or remain on top, of our issues. In its most mundane expression it generates scenarios where work is the bone of contention, one way or another. An awareness of this factor allows us to see the extent to which this aspect of our lives gets used manipulatively, as a control device in our relationships with ourselves, as well as others.
On a global level, this aspect can be dangerous. Watch and see how the next few weeks unravel. The tenterhooks upon which everything appears to be hanging are ready to snap. A waxing square from Astraea to both Pluto and Vesta points in this direction. Astraea is the Fate who makes the final cut when any situation finally reaches an end. How things go will be anyone’s guess.
Those who keep saying we are blessed with multiple forms of divine intervention tell us that everything will turn out just fine, no matter how bad things get. From what we’ve seen so far it looks like they just might be right—the next month and a half will be where it all comes out in the wash. On the heels of the latest eclipse, with the Fall Equinox only a few weeks away, everything that comes to pass between now and Halloween relies heavily on the right use of our free will in the face of changes that could rock everything to the core.”

The Dawn spacecraft has been orbiting the dwarf planet Ceres – largest body in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter – since March 2015. The spacecraft went into an extended mission phase on July 1, 2016.  The density of Ceres suggests it is 70% rock and 30% ice in composition, very similar to Eris and Pluto.

There have been suggestions that Ceres did indeed originate in the realm of the outer solar system where Eris and Pluto reside – the Kuiper Belt – then was ejected inwards and was sent into an orbit within the asteroid belt by Jupiter. But Ceres may also have formed closer to its current orbit. In the early solar system, the infant sun was approximately 30% dimmer than now, so that region was much colder then. Jupiter probably prevented Ceres from forming into a fully fledged planet.”~earthsky.org

Grounding is essentially the process of focusing your scattered energies into the Earth, and equally, being nurtured by the Sacred Roots/Flame of Mama-Gaia. It brings you ´back to this planet´ so you can take action in the here and now, or at the very least … not feel like you´re caving in with all this pressure.

You can use multiple techniques to ground yourself – here´s a list of general practices and tools that may help you (should you need it at this time).

Finding raw earth or soil to sit down on or walk on with bare feet
Sitting on the roots of a tree and leaning against its trunk (my favorite method)

Using certain gemstones like smoky quartz, boji stones, etc. either by holding them, placing them on the root chakra, or sitting with them in a circle. You can also work with calming stones or purifying stones, depending on your particular situation (see list below). The same goes for essential oils.

Avoiding stimulants like tobacco or caffeine for as long you feel the need to as the last thing you might want now is an extra buzz

Consuming foods that make you feel grounded – some prefer leafy greens, squash, nuts, and others prefer meat or chocolate (just listen to what your body is saying)

Detoxing / Releasing: Some of you may be feeling irritable with the sheer influx of energy wanting release, some of which may be older stuff related with early childhood experiences and conditioning. Salt soaks for the feet can help, as rituals of release, or, simply spending time by the ocean, or high up in the mountains (or any place in nature where you feel at peace). You may want to increase your water intake a little here.

Journaling: Some of you may need to express deep truths at this time, and may not want to share it with others. Write it down someplace. The need to be heard is a powerful thing, even if the only person who hears it is you.

Sleep: The brain needs time to integrate and process 🙂 If you’re feeling a little ragged around the edges, a little more sleep might help at this time.

Avoidance / Time-Out: (Yes, you heard me) If there are situations or people who simply trigger you, just walk away. Give yourself room to sort the situation out when you feel you can do so without entering into a victim-abuser dynamic (in particular). Go do something fun instead 🙂

Gemstones (these are generalities, always tune in first (VIVEKA!!!~L) to see if this applies to you):

Blue Lace Agate allows you to release pent up anger through a gentler form of expression.

Smoky quartz and Boji stones provide deep sources of grounding.

Lepidolite may have a calming effect on brain function.

Amethyst can help you find some calm through turbulent waters

Selenite provides purification and cleansing (never put water on it though)

Here are two additional resources that you may find useful:

Grounding with Food – http://www.earthenergyhealings.com/blog/11-grounding-foods – remember to check for allergies

Last, but not least …

If the Virgo-mind keeps bothering you with ideas of how you´re lowly, pathetic, unworthy, inadequate, etc.

With all the Love you can muster, and in words that work for you

Tell it to Shut Up.

And that you Love it (You) Anyway.

May you wake up to salsa music one summer morning, and start dancing while you’re still half-asleep.

May you spray-paint Rilke poems as graffiti on highway overpasses.

May you mix stripes with plaids, floral patterns with checks, and yellowish-green with brownish-purple.

May you learn to identify by name 20 flowers, 15 trees, 10 clouds, and one extrasolar planet.

May you put a bumper sticker on your car or bike that says, “My god can kick your god’s ass!”

If you bury your face in your tear-stained pillow and beg God to please send you your soul mate, may you not slur your words in such a way that they sound like

“cell mate.”

May you dream of taking a trip to the moon in a gondola powered by firecrackers and wild swans.

May you actually kiss the earth now and then.

May you find many good excuses to say what physicist Niels Bohr once did: “Your theory is crazy, but it’s not crazy enough to be true.” “

“The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on 16 September 2016
We no longer have the luxury of denial at this juncture.
This Eclipse falls a few days after the Inferior conjunction* of Mercury, which is also in the cross hairs of the Mars/Chiron square. Lunar Eclipses are times of fruition and disclosure. And what are being disclosed are these old and painful, inflamed and suppurating wounds needing some serious attention.  [This eclipse is good for:]
Recognizing the necessity for soul healing, and its impact on mental and physical well-being
Transforming pain or painful situations, and/or accepting difficult circumstances for what they are
Being able to discriminate between what you can or can not fix
Accepting others for who they are and where they are, without trying to change them”
(Releasing collective wounding, spiritual wounding ain’t easy, folks.  But it is soooooo worth it to consciously let go.  Feeling the feels?  Dreamy? A little foggy?  The veil is thin.  I know I am in more than one dimension.  Need proof?  Touch a thought.  Fondle a feeling.  This exercise can serve the purpose of proving AND ALLOWING.  It’s emerging.  It will destroy me.  I Let it.  It will save me.  I Let it.  Both/and.  I Trust I can handle it.  I am being ALIGNED.   My consciousness is meeting what I denied.  I Trust myself.  I release resistance.  I am not a victim and I would never have done this to myself if it was a futile exercise.  I feel the fullness of this dramatic and amazing experience.  Just a moment of appreciation and more will follow.~L)

“Most of us think ourselves as standing wearily and helplessly at the center of a circle bristling with tasks, burdens, problems, annoyance, and responsibilities which are rushing in upon us. At every moment we have a dozen different things to do, a dozen problems to solve, a dozen strains to endure. We see ourselves as overdriven, overburdened, overtired. This is a common mental picture and it is totally false. No one of us, however crowded his life, has such an existence. What is the true picture of your life? Imagine that there is an hour glass on your desk. Connecting the bowl at the top with the bowl at the bottom is a tube so thin that only one grain of sand can pass through it at a time. That is the true picture of your life, even on a super busy day, The crowded hours come to you always one moment at a time. That is the only way they can come. The day may bring many tasks, many problems, strains, but invariably they come in single file. You want to gain emotional poise? Remember the grains of sand dropping one by one.            ~ James Gordon Gilkey” from www.astrologybylauren.com

“Jupiter enters Libra

Just as those things in the Virgo domain were raised up as issues while Jupiter was in Virgo this past year (healthcare, a living wage, workers) now all things Libra are going to be made large over the year ahead: fairness, balance, harmony, equality, justice, marriage, relating to others, laws, lawyers, justices, aesthetics and beauty, art, refinement, design, fashion, decorators, weddings, diplomacy, allies, loving kindness, manners, mediation and striving for peace.

Saturn square Neptune

Some of the issues in our own lives associated with Saturn/Neptune are: self-doubt; fear of our inadequacy; guilt; fear of the unknown; feeling like the structures of our lives are no longer reliable; despair and hopelessness.  It will be a while before this square finally separates, so it may not be until October before we can begin to finally feel some relief. At this point, it could feel like we’re being forced to deal with something we’ve been trying to ignore.   And the only way to get through this is by facing some of our doubts and fears. Some of the issues in our own lives associated with Saturn/Neptune are: self-doubt; fear of our inadequacy; guilt; fear of the unknown; feeling like the structures of our lives are no longer reliable; despair and hopelessness.  The best way to navigate this aspect of doom and gloom, is by walking through it, recognizing where you have been limiting yourself due to your own fears, self-doubts and inhibitions.”~www.astrologybylauren.com

Can I allow that I have been deceived, disillusioned, lied to, enslaved and wounded AND NOT LEAVE MY HEART? NOT ESCAPE INTO MY FAVORITE VICE?  Can I stare it in the face and let it be without judging or reacting?  Can I use what abused me to align myself?  Knowing what I don’t want is a powerful COURSE CORRECTION.  I see the enormity of what I am really mired in, what I truly am, and stay with it; focused and adjusting with interest and alacrity?  OR WILL I MAKE A TOMB OUT OF THIS TUNNEL?

Here’s the deal as I see it:  I was told that I was supposed to UNDERSTAND reality and make something out of it.  I was told that mastery means CONTROLLING MATTER.  That is bullshit.  I am much better suited to trying to hold together and APPRECIATE the HUGENESS, THE CONTRADICTORY nature of the circumstance I find myself in. I am much better suited to dancing and playing and loving.  This world is trying to show me something THROUGH ME.  Imana try and understand THAT language and not manipulate, control or seduce anything outside me.  I am going to limit my involvement with those who I see manipulating, controlling and seducing things outside themselves.  Part of living this intention of mine is accepting the ugliness and blessing it, THEN RELEASING IT.  I KNOW I need not hold what is NOT FOR ME and that’s all the judgement, all the viveka I can ever declare.  It’s not personal, it’s not wrong or bad, it’s just not for me.  And then I get to pivot and move on to what is FOR ME.~L

I am ever amazed that my worst self contains my best self and vice versa. Love allows me to uncover this truth. It’s not about getting rid of one thing or the other, it’s about allowing for healing (alignment, unity ~L) between the two opposites. Love is alchemical; love changes everything it touches and everything it touches changes. Too often people are told to love what they don’t love about themselves and that’s pretty close to impossible. What you can do is wrap what you consider to be a defect, in love beyond all reason, and it will transmute and transform into the numinous.

It’s a week for groking. Are you familiar with the term grok? The term was coined by Robert A. Heinlein, in his novel, “Stranger In A Strange Land.” To grok is to empathetically understand and grasp an idea/ feeling/ concept, so deeply you don’t question the validity of your own knowing. That’s the quality of insight the owl card represents. Since insight of this kind invariably leads to action, it’s a great week for calling on an angel to help you navigate through the results of your insight. Write a want ad. Write — Seeking Angel For — and write down what you need the angel to do. It can be as specific as “help me make a major move, find a job, and get into school,” or as general as “help, just help!” Once a day for seven days, sit where you won’t be disturbed and read over your angel ad. Close your eyes and feel the wings of the angel you’ve summoned to help you wrap around you. The other action that would be effective this week and works beautifully with the angel ad is to pray for right action. Say: I sincerely invite the divine within and of my sacred path to be the guiding force in this day and my life. Please guide me through (whatever you need guidance through.)  Both the angel ad and the prayer will make wise use of the eclipse energy September 1st.

(I’m fascinated by the feeling of love.  We talk about the way it behaves all the time, but need more elaboration on how it feels.  How it feels to move the love from inside you out to another.  This is a reason why I am so big on blessings right now.  I woke up one morning this week with the sense that the most important work I could do was give and receive “blessing”.  Nothing religious or mysterious intended, just feel my heart fill with the trembly, butterfly-light sensation of growing love or alignment or wholeness or sparlky-translucent-honey-colored liquid light and then hand it over, with a gentle intentional nudge.  Now I’ve just gotta figure out how to receive it.  How do I open this thing again?.  (Life for slow-learners, sigh. ~L))

Heart-Focused Breathing™ Technique

1. Heart Focus: Focus your attention on your heart area. Breathe a little deeper than normal, in for 5 or 6 seconds and out 5 or 6 seconds. You may find that placing your hand over your heart helps you maintain your focus there.
2. Heart Breathing: Now imagine while breathing that you’re doing it through your heart. Picture yourself slowly breathing in and slowly breathing out through your heart area.

(Maintaining your focus and breathing through the heart area leads you naturally into a state of ease. When you’re ready to proceed with the rest of your day, you’ll do so with more energy and resilience for future challenges.)

The scientific term for this simple and quick tool is psychophysiological coherence: Ever heard of it? Keep reading.

Physiological Coherence

“Coherence is the state when the heart, mind and emotions are in energetic alignment and cooperation,” according to HeartMath Institute Research Director Dr. Rollin McCraty. “When the physiological coherence mode is driven by a positive emotional state, we call it psychophysiological coherence.”

If you are feeling that what you want is too “big” for the Universe, take a walk outside, look around you, and think about our planet: the oceans, the plains, the forests, the jungles, the animals, the trees, and every piece of vegetation on our planet. Look up into the sky and think about our solar system, our Milky Way, and all the millions of galaxies that contain billions of starts that go on forever. The infinite intelligence of the Universe created it all. Then think again about what you are wanting…how “big” do you think it is now?” -Unknown

This week’s Solar Eclipse signals a new beginning… a time when you can drop the frustrations of half-realized objectives and start afresh with a renewed sense of hope. When it comes to matters of the heart, we often carry our past disappointments around with us. This is not always a hindrance, often we learn from our history and it helps us to make better-informed decisions. But it’s important not to allow any old shattered illusions to reduce our dreams to the dust pile. Let your heart be optimistic this week. “In this eclipse, the hungry shadow demon – Rahu – will momentarily swallow the sun up and bite at the tail of romantic Leo the lion. This eclipse will fall in the creative powerhouse of the sky known as Purva Phalguni – the lion’s tail.

This eclipse packs a powerful jolt for warriors of the heart and romantic artists.  It opens a portal to radical change; one that if held with love, can support positive shifts in relationship dynamics and expand the vision of your future life path.

Lord Shiva himself, began his marriage procession under this auspiciousnakshatra.  Purva Phalguni can cause the transformational urgency of the eclipse to magnify the intensity of our intimate relationships, perhaps inflaming our hearts with new standards of desire. Shadow work and work around intimacy and boundaries can give profound insight in the days surrounding the eclipse.

Image result for heart based eclipse
Eclipse energy also purges out old patterns, whether it be relationship patterns, emotional baggage, or cutting cords with people and things that no longer serve us.  Purva Phalguni is ruled by Bhaga, the god of earthly enjoyments – food, sex, and wealth.  Be careful not to overindulge around the days of the eclipse, as this nakshatra is notorious for its fierce need for self-expression and enjoyment.  Bhaga is in charge of distributing wealth fairly and keeping communities and families cooperating and at peace.

Take heed, for during the Sept 1, 2016 solar eclipse Jupiter’s tight alignment with Mercury retrograde will create what is in Vedic Astrology known asplanetary war.  This may weaken our ability to make discerning choices and could confuse us with unrealistic advice.   Although there may be an urgency to find an immediate answer during these stormy eclipse days, try not to rush into making any important commitments or final decisions for at least a week.

This eclipse is certainly heart-centered and can trigger some deep karmic renovation within our relationships and creative projects. Whatever your creative interest – or obsession – this eclipse could mark a turning point in your heart’s journey, possibly bringing to a close old chapters and opening new ones.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Leo

by  | Aug 29, 2016 | AstrologyConjunctionsEclipses

On September 1st at 2:03 am (P.D.T.) we will have a New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Leo. The Sun and the Moon converge in the middle of sidereal Leo, in close conjunction with the shadow planet Rahu. This will cause a solar eclipse, visible from most of Africa, Madagascar, and the southern Indian Ocean (maximum eclipse at 9:06 U.T.).

New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Leo vedic astrologyThe Nodes

Rahu is known as the “north node” of the Moon in western astrology (and the ascending node in astronomical terms). There is no actual planetary body here. Rather, Rahu is located at the point where the path of the Sun and the path of the Moon (as viewed from earth) intersect. He is not a visible planet, but when the Sun and the Moon align with one of the nodes, we do see a shadow that becomes visible for a short period of time. The lunar nodes are therefore known as shadow planets.

They are designated grahas (“grabbers”) in Vedic Astrology, just like the other planets, because their energy grabs us and drives our karma in a similar way (or even more strongly). Rahu and Ketu indicate where we have some of our most deep-seated psychological karma, where we are least mature and where we have done a lot of work already. Because of their shadowy nature, we are often confused about the areas of life that they affect, but it is here that we can do a lot of inner work. Rahu is dark, meddling, and childish, but also deeply psychic, radically original, and hungry for spiritual growth.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Leo vedic astrology

Wherever Rahu and Ketu are when we have eclipses (e.g. sidereal Leo and Aquarius at the moment), these areas of your life will be particularly affected. Since their transit into these signs at the beginning of this year, we have been working on examining our shadows around how we relate to personal power and service to others. If we tend to go to extremes in either of these areas, or have any hang-ups that need work, the eclipses of this year are giving us a great opportunity to view these subconscious patterns, when the shadows literally become visible. Download the Free 2016 Rahu-Ketu Forecast for Your Sign To See How you Are Affected

Rahu’s presence in Leo (who also joined with Jupiter there all year, until recently) exaggerated our quest for personal empowerment, especially around the karma indicated by Leo in your chart (e.g. relationships for Aquarius rising, home-life for Taurus rising, career for Scorpio rising). You may have come up against some confusing bumps in the road here this year.  With Rahu in Leo, this drive to purify and be responsible may have become somewhat distorted this year.  Rahu’s presence here may have darkened our feeling of inherent potency and our ability to feel self-love. Health and vitality are indicated by the Sun, so this is a good opportunity to see where you can improve on self-care and self-love. It is also a good time to examine how you are using your power–whether you are being responsible and selfless, and doing the work to purify your own being, or just acting like a little bossy-pants.

Practice

Meditation, introspection, and journal-writing are some of the best ways to help you truly explore the shadows that are arising for you. In thinking about these themes, write about whatever comes up for you. Then examine it to see if it is true, and something that needs work, or a limiting belief that you are ready to discard. The lunar eclipse in a few weeks is a great time to cut cords with what is no longer needed.

To assist in reconnecting with the dharmic and illuminating power of the Sun (Surya), make an effort to practice some Sun salutations at the beginning of each day. You can augment this practice by reciting mantras for the Sun, either silently along with your breath throughout your practice, or in a sitting posture. You can even make an altar to the Sun, or make some sun tea with rejuvenative herbs. We can directly invoke the Sun through repeating the mantra “Om Suryaya Namaha,” or through the powerful Gayatri Mantra, “Om bhur, bhuvah, svaha, tat savitur varenyam, bhargo devasya dhimahi, dhiyo yo nah prachodayat.”~Somya Devi at www.somyadevi.com

This is a very significant new Moon. It’s a solar eclipse, but even more than that, it has very strong aspects that have some very interesting messages. For a start, Saturn squares this new Moon and Neptune opposes it. Both of these aspects become exact just hours after this eclipse. This is north node eclipse, meaning, amongst other things, that this is a time for forward action, forward thinking, discarding things from the past, etc. It may, though, be a little weird in that we may find it a bit of a distraction trying to figure out what is real and what is fantasy (or theater).

Of particular significance at this new Moon is Venus and Jupiter passing over the Super Galactic Center. This is major. We have Mercury coming right up to the SGC and then going retrograde, so, in about a month and a half’s time, Mercury will traverse the SGC, cementing even more some of the ideals, dreams and visions we’ve been hatching at this new Moon.
Image result for sabian symbol "the mind of god"

The Super Galactic Center has an orb from approx Virgo 28+ to Libra 5+ and the Sabian Symbols contained therein are extraordinarily apt for the theme that the SGC is said to represent. In a nutshell, the SGC is said to be where ‘the Mind Of God resides’. The end of Virgo and those first 5-6 degrees of the zodiac are where we would look if we looked out towards the Super Galactic Center. It’s a powerhouse part of the zodiac, not unlike the Galactic Center of late Sagittarius = both are said to be where we can truly connect in with the Law Of Attraction (You know I don’t buy into that one, but this might convince me~L). Making plans, drawing them up, seeing what you can do, measuring three times before cutting, all these things and more can add to a successful period during the next few weeks.

What is it that you really want? The SGC is a powerful point in the zodiac, and, to have Mercury, Venus and Jupiter meeting up here, brings a lot more power to this time.  (That’s more like it, I would call this “polish up my personal vision and hold it loosely but resolutely.”~L)

“Mercury is still Retrograde, and we’ve got a potent New Moon Solar Eclipse on the 1st. Confront things head-on friends, and be ready for truths to be revealed and insist on being dealt with. Get with the program and handle the reality you’re living in, lovers.” ~Jessica Lanyadoo at www.lovelanyadoo.com

Woof Yoganauts!  That’s a LOT!!

One ton of global harbingers of change, but they are the same energies you have been dealing with for almost a year now: the Virgo Pisces axis T-squares Mars and Saturn in Sagittarius.  So what if Mercury retrograde, the North Node and Jupiter are back-loading the Virgin?  Who cares if the South Node and Neptune in Pisces are churning your karma to dharma?  Or if the sun squares Saturn then Neptune?  And if Antares is goading the malefics?  Or if Pluto opposes the Nodes?  Or if the Uranus Eris conjunction is threatening to upset the whole apple cart?  Or if Black Moon Lilith is lurking?  WOW, actually that’s a LOT. . .

Even if none of that were happening we would still be set to embark upon the next set of soul explorations because eclipse cycles run for 19 years and whatever got started in September of 1997 will resonate. With your theme.  The end of victimization and martyrdom and the start of empowerment begins and ends with YOUR CHOICES, YOUR DISCERNMENT and YOUR VIVEKA.

What if compassion, understanding and yogic discernment are the perfect tools to release expectation, go within and sit with all these clashing energies?  What if 12 noon on Saturday September 3rd is the best time?

Bless your heart,

~L
